Alterous Attraction is an attraction and desire for an emotional closeness with a person that exists in between romantic and platonic feelings. Ann alterous relationship is called a queerplatonic relationship (this article contains more information as well).
An alterous "crush" is called a mesh, although there have been other terms coined.
History[]
Alterous Attraction was coined on January 19th, 2015, by AromanticSpectrumAwarenessWeek.[2]
On January 27th, 2016, Alterous Albatross made the flag.[1] Later on April 23rd, Pastelmemer made an alternative flag.[3]
On March 13th, 2020, i-make-flags created an altenerative flag for alterous attraction.[4] Then on June 22nd, cloudywithachanceofrainbows made an alternative flag.[5]
On March 11th, 2021, a new alternative flag was made but it is unknown who made it.[6] Then on December 18th, malaikans made an alterative flag.[7]
On April 28th, 2023, the-label-sanctuary coined the term Gummymate/Gummyfriend as an alternative to 'boyfriend/girlfriend/etc' for alterious partners.
